What Is Tonoflex P?

Tonoflex P is a pain-relief tablet made in Pakistan by Sami Pharmaceuticals. Each tablet contains two active ingredients: tramadol hydrochloride 37.5mg and paracetamol 325mg. The "P" in the name stands for that paracetamol.

Tramadol is an opioid analgesic. It acts on opioid receptors in the brain and spinal cord to dampen pain signals, and it also affects serotonin and noradrenaline pathways. Paracetamol works by a different mechanism, so the combination gives better relief than either component alone and starts working faster.

It is not a B-vitamin product or a nerve tonic. This distinction matters: Tonoflex P is easily confused with B-complex brands such as Neurobion or Methycobal, and that confusion is dangerous. A B-complex tablet can be taken daily for months; Tonoflex P is a controlled opioid intended for short courses under medical supervision.

Tonoflex P is a prescription-only controlled medicine in Pakistan. Tramadol can cause both physical and psychological dependence, and the risk rises the longer it is taken.

• Do not stop abruptly after several weeks of use — withdrawal can cause agitation, sweating, tremor, insomnia, stomach upset and a sharp return of pain. Your doctor will taper the dose.
• Do not increase the dose yourself. If pain is not controlled, contact your doctor — self-escalation is the most common route to overdose and seizures.
• Never with alcohol — the combination carries a serious risk of respiratory depression.

What Is Tonoflex P Used For?

Tonoflex P is intended for pain severe enough that paracetamol or ibuprofen alone is insufficient, but not severe enough to require a strong opioid:

The Tonoflex Family — Which Product Is Which?

Do not transfer the dose of one form to another. A single Tonoflex P Forte tablet contains twice the tramadol of a plain Tonoflex P tablet — treating both as "one tablet" is a route to overdose.

Tonoflex P Dosage

Always follow your doctor's instructions and the information on the pack. As a general guide:

If you miss a dose, take it when you remember — but skip it if the next dose is nearly due. Never take two doses together.

Critical: Avoid Doubling Up on Paracetamol

Every Tonoflex P tablet already contains 325mg of paracetamol. In Pakistan paracetamol appears in dozens of products — Panadol, Calpol, Disprol, flu combination tablets and many pain remedies. Taking any of these alongside Tonoflex P can push your total paracetamol intake above the safe 24-hour limit (generally 4000mg in healthy adults).

The principal danger of paracetamol overdose is liver damage, and its early symptoms are minimal — by the time you feel unwell, injury may already have occurred. Check the formula of any other painkiller or flu remedy before taking it, or ask your pharmacist.

• Children under 16 years
• Pregnant or breastfeeding women — tramadol passes into breast milk and can affect the infant's breathing

Drug Interactions

• Pain remains uncontrolled despite taking the full prescribed dose

Availability and Price in Pakistan

Tonoflex P is stocked by pharmacies across Pakistan, but it is a controlled medicine and requires a doctor's prescription. The price is approximately PKR 455 per pack, varying with pack size, strength and pharmacy (August 2026). Tonoflex SR and Tonoflex P Forte are priced differently.

Even where a pharmacy dispenses it without a prescription, self-medicating is not safe — the dose, the duration and the decision that an opioid is appropriate at all are medical judgements.
